May 7, 2011. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao defeated “Sugar” Shane Mosley via unanimous decision at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, NV, to retain his WBO Welterweight Championship. The match was widely seen as “lopsided” in Pacquiao’s favor.
Mosley was knocked out in Round 3, but he endured Pacquiao’s punches in the following nine rounds. Had Pacquiao won via KO, it would have been Mosley’s first knockout loss in his career. This is Pacquiao’s 52nd win, and Mosley’s 7th loss.
