The first half of 2012 in the Philippines mainly featured the impeachment trial, and the subsequent conviction and removal, of Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona. It resembled a one-season teleserye and a one-trimester class on law, with lots of scene-stealers in and out of the Senate halls.
